Dental Lab Management Software
DCLMDental lab management softwareThe data and workflow side of running a lab: case data arriving in whatever format the practice had, transformed into something the bench can use, routed to the right person, and tracked until it ships. Cympha LMS is the next-generation lab management system (LMS) built on that one case record.
Dental lab management features
What Cympha gives a lab, by the names you would look for, all on one case record.
Scanner file intake
Scans, CBCT, photographs and the prescription land on the case in whatever format the practice sends. The Cympha Agent watches your scanners' export folders, so a new scan becomes a case in one click.
Digital Rx and order forms
Each service you offer has its own order form and price. Upload the form you use today and Cympha turns it into fields, and translates it for the practice.
Model preparation and repair
Mesh repair, arch building, format conversion and CBCT preparation run against the case rather than on one person's workstation.
Work assignment
Work goes to a named designer, in-house or outside, with the doctor's intent attached, or to whoever has the fewest open cases. The assignment is part of the record.
Case tracking
Fifteen case states rather than three, so “where is it” is answered by looking instead of asking. The printed lab slip carries a QR code that opens the case.
Doctor portal
Practices order, follow the case, message the lab, approve the design and pay without phoning. A doctor without an account can still open a case shared with them.
Case messaging and notifications
Doctors, the lab and designers talk on the case, with one-click translation, and each person gets alerts by email, in the app, as web push or on the desktop.
Pricing, invoicing and payments
The lab sets prices per service and per case. Quotes, payment and invoices stay on the case, and the lab's earnings export to CSV.
Desktop sync
Files move between the workstation and the case on their own, so the desktop stays part of the workflow.
Case history
Every action is recorded on the case and stays readable long after the people involved have moved on.
Remote and outsourced design
Adding capacity is adding a person, wherever they are, rather than another seat in your building.
What dental lab management covers here
A lab's day is built from two things software rarely handles together: turning incoming data into working data, and moving that work between people. A scan arrives in one vendor's format. It needs converting, checking, sometimes repairing. Then it has to reach whichever designer is free, with the doctor's intent attached, and the front desk needs to know where it is when the practice calls.
Dental lab management in Cympha is exactly that — data transformation and workflow handling — carried on the case record instead of in a folder tree and a group chat.
It is one part of a larger whole. The case record that crosses into the clinic, the files underneath it, and the AI that works it are the other three.
The cost of a case in pieces
None of these is big. All of them happen every day, on every case, and together they are most of what a lab's people spend their time on.
| Step | What it takes today | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| Scan arrives | Log into the practice's portal, download, unzip, check | Repeated per case, per portal |
| Prepare the model | Desktop CAD, manual repair, arch building | Bench time on a mechanical step |
| Assign the work | Group chat and a spreadsheet | No record of who holds what |
| Doctor asks where it is | Phone the designer, phone back | Half an hour, twice a day |
| Send it back | Email, or a transfer link | Expires, gets re-sent |
| Bill it | Reconcile what was done against a price list | Done from memory at month end |
Where it lives in Cympha
Each part of the platform carries one piece of this, and Studio carries the 3D data underneath all of it.
| Part of Cympha | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Cympha LMS | Intake forms, routing, case states, pricing and invoicing |
| Cympha Studio | The 3D data itself: repair, arch building, CBCT, articulation, and the record of what was done to it |
| Cympha Agent | File movement between the designer's workstation and the case |
| AI Coworkers | The repetitive passes, run unattended with your people making the calls |
| Cympha Cloud | Storage and sharing, so a file lands once and is never re-sent |
Questions labs ask
- Does this replace our design software?
- No. Cympha orchestrates the specialist tools and connects to them. Design stays where your designers already work.
- Do our doctors need accounts?
- No. A case can be shared with anyone for free, and they can open it without signing up.
- Can we start before our doctors are on it?
- Yes. A lab runs Cympha on its own and invites practices when it suits. Nobody has to go first.
- How are cases and files protected?
- Everyone signs in, and what each person can see depends on their role: doctor, lab manager, designer or patient. The lab's internal conversations are kept apart from those with the doctor. A desktop Agent connects only after you approve it, and you can revoke it at any time. Every action on a case is recorded in its history.
- What happens to the files we already have?
- The Agent pairs a workstation and moves files to and from the case, so existing folders keep working while the record fills in.
See a case move through a lab
The quickest way to judge this is to watch one case go from intake to delivery on real data.
