Cympha Agent
Your desk is part of the case.
A small, free Windows application in your system tray. Scans go into the case and finished designs come back, with nothing to upload by hand.
Everything the Agent does you can also do from the browser. The Agent removes the fetching and the forgetting: it watches the folders your scanner exports into, keeps your assigned cases on disk, and puts finished work back on the case the moment it is saved.
Windows only. Free with every Cympha account, installed from the Downloads page inside Cympha LMS. Optional: the browser does everything too.
What it does
Four agents in one tray application, plus AI segmentation that runs on your own workstation.
Desktop sync (Cloud Monitor)
Your assigned cases arrive on disk as folders, each with a printable lab slip that refreshes whenever the case changes. Drop a finished file into the case folder and it is queued for upload to that case.
Scanner file intake (File Monitor)
Watches the folders your scanner or CBCT exports into. New files show up within seconds with two choices: Create a Case, or Ignore. Files that were already there are never surfaced.
Upload Agent
Started from a case page in the browser: a native file picker, optional mesh repair on STL and PLY scans, then the upload. There is no tray button for it; the case page asks the Agent.
AlignerBot
When OrthoPlus is installed, the Agent runs aligner cases through it unattended, several at once, and puts the results back on the case for the doctor's approval.
CBCT Segmentation
Runs on your own workstation with an NVIDIA RTX 30- or 40-series card. Point it at a DICOM folder, CD exports and zipped bundles included, and STL files land in a folder beside it. Requires the CBCT Segmentation subscription.
Preview before you upload
Any watched file can be opened in Cympha Studio straight from your disk, over a short-lived local link. It is not uploaded, not in a case, not on the cloud.
Device pairing and approval: one email and one click
The Agent has no login of its own. It asks; you approve from the account that is already signed in.
- 1
Install and start the Agent. It lives in the system tray and starts with Windows.
- 2
Right-click the tray icon, choose Pair to Cympha…, and type your Cympha account email.
- 3
Approve the request in your browser. It shows the machine name, operating system and time, so you know it is yours.
- 4
The Agent shows Paired as followed by your email. Done, until you choose to unpair.
One machine pairs to one account at a time. Your profile lists every paired machine with when it was last seen, and revoking one cuts it off immediately. A pair request expires after an hour, and an email with no Cympha account simply does nothing.
How files move
- Files go straight between your computer and storage. They never pass through Cympha's servers.
- Assigned cases are checked every 20 seconds; scanner folders within seconds.
- Self-contained design outputs (.zip and .gvw) upload on their own. Other files wait in the Cloud Monitor panel for your click, so you can check them first.
- Only case file types are offered: STL, PLY, OBJ, PNG, GVW, TXT, PDF, PIE, XML, GPK and ZIP. Temporary files and editor backups are ignored.
- Deleting a downloaded file on your disk does not bring it back. Reset sync state is the escape hatch, and it never touches files on disk.
Good to know
- Windows only. There is no macOS or Linux build; Mac users work from the browser.
- Closing the window keeps the Agent running in the tray. Only Quit exits.
- Updates are announced with a Download button. The Agent never installs them itself.
- Nothing is exposed off your machine. The browser talks to the Agent over a local-only connection.
- Configuration lives in small dialogs from the tray menu, one per feature. There is no separate settings screen.
- CBCT segmentation downloads its pipeline once per machine, about 3 GB, and asks first.
